Hello World, or more realistically, Cyprus!

I’m new here to Cyprus Freethinkers, but I’m an old atheist, to quote Wikipedia :

Freethought is a philosophical viewpoint that holds that opinions should be formed on the basis of science, logic, and reason, and should not be influenced by authority, tradition, or dogma.[1] The cognitive application of freethought is known as ‘freethinking’, and practitioners of freethought are known as ‘freethinkers’

There it is in a nutshell, for my first post, since I’m a Musician/Deejay…. OK a Drummer/Deejay, since musicians don’t consider drummers as musicians in the first place…. Hence the old joke : Heard backstage ” Will the musicians and the drummer please come to the stage” Hahaha… :S

Anyway, I’m rambling here…

To cut things short, I am passionate about music, so for my first post I’m going to link a great freethinking (atheist, agnostic)  song by Propagandhi, check it out:

    Hey Michael, thanks for the warm welcome, I’m not form Cyprus, though I have lived here for quite a while, I’m Palestinian. As for the band they are Canadian, I love that song, and it sticks in your head too… In a good way, not like how Britney songs stick in your head

Σκοπός μας είναι η εποικοδομητική παρακολούθηση και συζήτηση των επιστημονικών εξελίξεων σε συνδυασμό με το σχηματισμό και τη χρήση κριτικής σκέψης, ούτως ώστε να καταφέρουμε να συμβάλουμε ως άτομα αλλά και ως ομάδα στην καλυτέρευση του επιπέδου ζωής στο νησί μας, μακριά από παρωχημένες πολιτικές, κοινωνικές και θρησκευτικές αντιλήψεις. Οραματιζόμαστε ένα καλύτερο μέλλον όπως και όλοι οι συμπολίτες μας, και παρόλο που κατά βάση είμαστε άθεοι, έχουμε ως άξονα μας τον ανθρωπισμό. Με γνώμονα μας τον ίδιο τον άνθρωπο λοιπόν, καθώς και την ευημερία του αδημονούμε να έρθουμε σε επαφή με όλους αυτούς που προβληματίζονται για όσα συμβαίνουν γύρω μας και θα ήθελαν να μοιραστούν τις απόψεις τους μαζί μας.
